cursor is spinning

All of a sudden my cursor started spinning in a circle ctrl-alt-delete does absolutely nothing when that comes up it says task manager is unresponsive.

Is it the default cursor?
Have you ended any processes or services lately that you didn't know exactly what they did?
Has your computer recently shutdown suddenly (and perhaps corrupted system processes?)

If the answer is no to those, then maybe its a virus. Get malwarebytes, its free and very very reputable.

Also possible something wacky is happening with a weird hard drive failure
