I just finished building a custom gaming PC and really want to know, if I were to sell it, how much it's worth. It's never been used.

Motherboard: Z97A MSI gaming 7
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 80 Plus Gold 1200W
CPU: i7-4790k
Ram: G-Skill Ripjaws X-Series 16gb
GPU: EVGA geforce gtx 980 ti
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256gb
HDD: WD 1tb
Heatsink: Cooler Master EVO 212
Network Card: tp-link n900
Blu-ray: LG WH16NS40
Operating system: Windows 10

Again, this is brand new. Never been used. How much would it sell for? Parts cost me about $2037.

From a sucker? Probably around $1600-1700 max. From an informed buyer/fellow enthusiast? Probably close to sirstinky's estimate of about $1300. The biggest loss comes from the 980Ti dropping nearly $200 in value on the used market, then the PSU, then the 4790k, and finally the fact that most people will expect a bulk discount from buying an entire system as opposed to individual parts Yes, you can say your stuff is new and unused, but if the boxes have been unsealed and the components installed into a system, people will consider them used.

It depends on where you sell it- who you sell it to. Brand new PC parts are worth more. Some people want wholesale pricing, even for new parts because they're "used" (out of the box). Your bill for this was probably north of $1300, so figure on getting MOST of your money back. Reasonably, you could get $1250 for it. 980ti's don't command premium prices any more. I saw some are selling on Craigslist for $400 or less.

It is hard to say but I very much doubt you would make your money back and the longer you keep it the more it will depreciate.

It is very much like when you buy a brand new car, the minute you drive it out the showroom it will depreciate in value even though it is still brand new.
