You'll find a picture of the pins here (near bottom of page) but what processor do you have again?

If you have a Tbred 1700+/1800+ and you want access to the higher multipliers you connect AJ27 (8x bit) to Vcc, VCore(AH26 is convenient). This IS NOT the mod that is illustrated in the pictures.

If you have an XP2100+ or higher and want access to the lower multipliers you connect AJ27 to Vss, Ground (AH28 is convenient). This IS the mod that is illustrated.

In either case, be careful. Watch your orientation. Note the positions of the corners that are missing pins. Don't forget the socket mod is a mirror image of the chip mod.

If you have a legacy motherboard you need to make sure you have a bootable default multiplier because either of these two mods will change it.

i've got a 2200 ... almost thought i fried it today too when i joined the 5th L3 bridge (didn't have any conductive pen, used a wire and some tape to hold it to the bridge connectors, heh), but no worries now

now i did already link the AH27 and AH28 pins, and got a default multiplyer of 5x, but i was stupid and was hoping i'd get a 14 out of it, heh, forgot there was a different "unlock" to get the higher multiplyers... anyways, thanks dude, i'll post again when i get some good OC results

XP2200+ already has the 8x bit enabled! You should already be able to select high multipliers.

What mobo do you have again?

5X is interesting, though. Closing the 5th L3 bridge should have given you 5.5x.

I've got an MSI KT3 Ultra... yeah, 5x ... i mean, i didn't even realise at first, just booted into XP and went into SiSoft Sandra to check my memory speeds ('caus I upped the FSB) and CPU speeds and stability, and then i see somethin like 700Mhz for the CPU speed and i was like "what the f#ck?!"... heh, then i thought i messed it up and removed the wire, heh... anyways, I'll try again tonight and I'll cross my fingers - I'd love to hit at least 2.0GHz
