If you have a Tbred 1700+/1800+ and you want access to the higher multipliers you connect AJ27 (8x bit) to Vcc, VCore(AH26 is convenient). This <b>IS NOT</b> the mod that is illustrated in the pictures.
If you have an XP2100+ or higher and want access to the lower multipliers you connect AJ27 to Vss, Ground (AH28 is convenient). This <b>IS</b> the mod that is illustrated.
In either case, be careful. Watch your orientation. Note the positions of the corners that are missing pins. Don't forget the socket mod is a mirror image of the chip mod.
If you have a legacy motherboard you need to make sure you have a bootable default multiplier because either of these two mods will change it.
