Data not getting copied from Seagate HDD to pc

I am trying to copy my files from Sea-gate 2TB Slim BUP External to my PC,it is reading and scanning 24GB scanned but not getting copied and instead the copy explorer box is automatically getting closed.And from the past 1 week my HDD wasnt reading and shows fatal hardware error.I have 1.3 TB of data being collected from past 6 yrs.What should i do.Any suggestions??
Is there a chance of losing data??

It is possible there are problems with the hard drive. Have you tried running chkdsk on it to see if there are any bad sectors on the drive?

i disconnected the HDD once and now i reconnected and it got detected but not getting displayed.Now what shd i do? and i am hearing my HDD making some noise too when observed.

Hi there Dheeraj_12,

Have you tried something simple as just attaching the drive with a different cable to another computer? You can try that out.
If the issue persists, you can see if you will manage to access the data with some data recovery tool: https/www.lifewire.com/free-data-recovery-software-tools-2622893
If you manage to do that, it would be a really nice idea to test the drive afterwards: http/www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
