Data Recovery After Format - Please HELP !

Hi all

So, call me stupid now, and get it out of your system

I formatted my 1TB WD GREEN HDD via a USB HDD enclosure.

I need to recover my photos from this hard drive.

I have used Stella Phoenix (on mac) and EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard (on PC)

I can see all the files and folders and I can also recover them without any hassle. However, when I go to open the photo or jpg file that I recovered, it says "corrupt or damaged" file etc... both software is doing this.

Can anyone suggest what else I can do ?

The file system is NTFS (yes my mac can read NTFS)

About the only thing left short of data recovery experts ($$$) is to try more recovery programs like recuva

If you can handle a bit of command line and linux try Photorec.
