Specs for my system: Laptop - Dell Inspiron 15r SE 7520 CPU - Intel Core i5-3210M @ 2.50 Ghz (3.01 w/ Turbo boost), 2 Cores, 4 Logical processors Ram - Gkill 8 gig single stick (aftermarket) OS - Win 7 Home Premium HDD - 1TB

So, DCPs & ISRs are eating up close 15-30% of my CPU cores at any given time. I have scoured the web for answers, managed to track down the problem with a program called Latency Mon. It tells me the driver for Intel Rapid Store Technology is acting erratic and is the most probable cause for DCPs & ISRs. Like an obedient mutt, I disabled RST services, disabled RST from the device manager. But when I try to disable the faulty driver iaStor.sys, it won't let me boot up the system. So I'm f****** stuck.

Yes, this is a huge problem as it won't let me play any game, or video/audio editing program without causing huge lag spikes due to high CPU use. I'm at my wits end. Contemplating about installing WIN 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Did what @popatim suggested. No luck. Out of frustration I updated to Win 10. When it threw me to the desktop, opened Task Manager, saw Intel Rapid Store service in the processes tab (couldn't in Win 7), eating up more than 20% CPU power. I uninstalled it... so hard.

Checked Latency Mon again, iaStor.sys is no longer eating up the CPU. Good riddance, I say. PC seems to be working fine for now. Will post update after 24-hrs again.

Update 2: WIN 10 seems to have actually helped. Can confirm DPC/ISRs are no longer being problematic. Problem solved I guess.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post!
