How do AT&T get most of these sort of exclusives, if i was just launching a new phone/device the last thing I'd want to do is tie to to just one vendor.

I would hope the FCC looks in whats going one with launches like these and finds put just what sort of deal AT&T is putting together to attract them.

Definitely not for for since its on Cellular One err AT&T's network.

So, by tying in with AT&T they essentially only have one competitor... Apple and the iPhone.

Because anyone else is too smart to sign up with AT&T.

Its because AT&T is one of the big boys in the world. They have their hands in everything and I would suspect they have common board members.

I've had at&t for years now and no complaints in Houston Tx. Sure I wish their pricing plans were more reasonable but it's not more expensive than their competitors. I've also had excellent service when my friends on other network have had all sorts of issues around me. I really considered T Mobile for a while but their coverage seems to be limited in my area.

Anyways, this looks like a cool device. Bunch of recent cool devices seem to be coming out of Dell lately.

While T-Mobile is near the bottom of the list in terms of reception, Sprint is by far the worst. Sprint isn't the Now Network. They're the Never Network.

[citation][nom]LaserBick[/nom]AT&T is the best in Phoenix, AZ. Verizon is garbage here!!![/citation]

are you kidding me??? AT&T is horrible in the valley. I have Verizon and have great service, and all of my friends have iPhone and are always having problems. You're probably fine in the middle of the city, but get into Ahwatukee, or North Scottsdale, Cave Creek, North Phoenix and you're done.

I'm pretty stoked about ATT getting the new hottness. They are the best in my area (south Texas).

I can't wait for the Dell Thunder and the Lightning. Android or WinMo7? I can't wait to decide.

Don't take this the wrong way guys and gals. But you are on a tech site, and complaining a device is locked to a network? You are aware how easy it is to get around that on any phone since 2004?

Use some of what you hear about and buy that phone and make it what you want. I'm from Australia where we have fewer people but just about as much space, so our phone networks are worse thanks to density coverage. Crack that sh*t and have some fun.

To make matters worse we don't get these phones until much later unless we want to buy from Asia for a premium.

5 inch screen? On a mobile phone? I'm sorry but there is a point where the screen on a phone is getting too big to be comfortable or practical. 5 is definitely in that rage. Way too big for a phone.
