Dell Inspiron 15 5579 256 SSD, can we add a 1TB HDD or just have to upgrade the SSD?

Solution
So basically you can replace the current 2.5" SATA 256GB SSD with a hard drive or a higher capacity 2.5" SATA SSD. In both cases the max capacity is 2TB of storage.

However, a 2TB HDD cost around $85 or more compared to at least $525 for a 2TB SSD.

According to this service manual, you're going to be able to drop in a 2.5" SSD into your unit. The same info is found on this article with this image

lacking any M.2 slots for storage.
