Sometime ago I started noticing some flicker on left side of my LCD screen, which will go away if I remove/reconnect the A/C power. Then while I am working my numlock on the external key board would flash for no reason and mouse will become unresponsive for some time. If I dim the screen the screen flicker will not happen for a long time but will appear more frequently on full brightness. Now upon starting white areas appear yellow-purpulish and entire screen starts to flicker and doesn't stabilize except momentarily and finally goes blank in a short time. When hooked up to an external monitor PC has no issues projecting the Desktops. Changing the inverter didn't help. Do I need a new LCD screen or I should check something else before doing this?
(Before the display gave in I did run OB diagnostic which didn't reveal anything)
Appreciate any help you can offer.

Hi,

If the issue is not happening on the external display you've already narrowed down the issue with your laptop. But you go ahead and replace the LCD of your laptop please do try these troubleshooting steps as well.

- Go to Device Manager and uninstall graphics driver.
- Open Programs and Features and uninstall anything related to graphics.
- Download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer site.
NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
- Once installed reboot your PC for all the changes to take effect.
- If all these steps will not work it safe to replace your LCD screen.
