Dell inspiron 1525 screen is black on startup

Hi, When I started my laptop today. The screen is black/blank though power button, processor button are working/ emitting light. I have tried removing the battery and starting with AC supply and reinserting the battery, but none of them works.
Please help

plug the laptop to external display and see if you get signal
im suspecting broken display / broken backlight

Put a flashlight to the monitor, see if you can see a faint image on it. That could signal a bad inverter (which is way less costly than a panel).

I have a 1525 also and had to replace the inverter last year.

Hi All, Thnks for reply. But, after running the DELL diagnostic test, the suspection is that the Motherboard is gone. Can anybody suggest, what else could be the reason if LCD panel is working and still seeing black screen.

I tried, there is no display on external LCD also.

when you ran the diagnostics, did the monitor work ?

if it is the mobo, your hdd is probably ok and your data is safe

if it is the mobo, probably gonna be purchasing a new laptop

have you tried a boot disc ?

do you know what brand of hard drive you have ? the manufacturer of your hd also has free boot discs on their websites

Do you dedicated video ? If YES , video chipset have a problem, if not , the chipset of motherboard have a problem.

the laptop don't star the blue light for the processor don't blink and i have 3 light star whit a padlock
1-inside the padlock have a 9
2-inside the padlock have a A
3- inside the padlock have a down arrow
