dell inspiron 5559 new ram wont work

i have bought a new dell inspiron 5559 with 2X4gb ram pc3l. i recently bought a new 2X8gb ram that is identical to the current ones except it is pc3, but i heard it doesnt matter. when i put the 8gb ram the laptop wont start. i saw all across the internet that the inspiron support 16gb ram. what can i do?

Try a BIOS update, if that does not work, return the RAM and look at a site like Crucial to get the exact match for the system.

Hey, any real solution? What about those lights, did you find what they meant?
And was it your ram? Is your comp fine now?
