Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK

Im thinking about using my amazon store card so the laptop has to come from amazon.
The Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK seems to be the best option for spending $800. I linked 2 others with similar specs that are the same price. Anyone know what the pre order deal is? It says first available oct 1st 2015 so it must mean they are just out of stock at the moment? I kind of hate that its only 256gb storage but it being ssd should make it worth it and apparently you can add another ssd as well as more ram.

The Dell i7559k will likely be released by mid-November at the lasted in time for holiday sales. Who knows, it may even be released later this month. The "date first available" is simply when the product was 1st listed on Amazon. The site clearly states the laptop has not been released yet; it is a pre-order.

If you can be patient, then you can buy a $800 laptop with a quad core Skylake Core i5 CPU and GTX 960m GPU. The other laptops only have a dual core i5 CPU and the less powerful GTX 950m.

The SOC in the Dell is the i5-6300HQ which is a quad core chip. The SOC in the Asus is the i7-6500u which is a dual core with hyperthreading. The i5 in the Dell is similar in performance to the i7-4712hq which is a well known i7 mobile SOC. I would take the Dell for graphics and I would wait till reviews come out on the Dell before making a decision unless you absolutely need a new laptop now, in which case, take the Asus.

I recommend you go with the Dell for that price range. (Newer graphics as well.)

It bypasses the MSI in that department (processing power).....
It comes with 256GB SSD Storage which is kinda small, but an SSD will always give you much needed speed. What you need to do and can do later on, is to get an external hard drive to store major files while the SSD in your laptop runs the operating system and programs etc.

Did I compare the Dell to any of the two laptops (MSI or Asus) ? No I didn't..The Dell is actually the best choice, but I clearly stated that it was not released as yet and you can look when this answer was posted...

Now that the Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK has been released, Iv been reading tons of reviews on various websites (ie. Amazon) and it sounds like people are having quite a few issues with the Dell. Some of these include:
wifi connectivity issues, Display issues, backlit keyboard malfunctions etc..

Is the Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK still a better option over the Asus k501ux? Hardware wise its better with the Quad-Core Processor but If im going to be having issues with the laptop right out of the box that are going to make it unusable i would rather get something not quite as powerful that works great. Just my 2 Cents.

Disagree w Technee - if you're buying this for gaming. The ASUS and Dell both have the same additional discrete GPU, but the ASUS has 2GZB GDDR3, while the Dell has 4 GB GDDR5. For gaming, it's all about the graphics capabilities. Not sure the new i7 would beat the new i5 with that much a disparity in Graphics capabilities
