Hello everyone,

So today my Laptop's screen seems to have died a bit. I took it to school, and it worked when I last used it at ~10:00, and now when I'm home this has happened:

I didn't handle it roughly, it was inside a sleeve inside a computer pocket in my bag, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

I'm basically asking what I should do, and what you think the issue is.

The bit that's completely black just stays black, but the box around it sometimes fades away, and is sometimes a bit see-through.

This is the amazon page for it, but I bought it in-store from Staples.

Hi, I think you have a broken screen, you have a crack from the top of the screen in the black section. A picture of the black area will confirm what I think. So, you need a new screen. You can also try an external monitor to see if you have the same picture.

Laptop only has a HDMI port, and I don't have a HDMI cable, >.>

Here's a close-up:

Alright, thanks.

Guess I'll look around and see what the price of replacing it is. This comes straight after fixing a RAM issue in my Desktop. Not my week, >.>

I didn't know a crack could make that weird square bit though, is that normal?

Yes it's normal, you have dead pixels, on my screen it's worse than yours, it starts on the upper right and goes way down in the middle. If you have more question, just ask.
