Dell laptop heating up

Hi....
So I have the dell studio 1558 and recently it had started heating up and all of a sudden it shutdown and now it doesnt turn on anymore please help me

- Reseat the RAM
- Unplug the battery and hold the power button for 1 minute

Yeah that was the cause of it heating up

Velo3100 no it was just like super dirty so it almost didnt work

Have you also replaced the thermal paste? This is required after some time, because it hardens and looses its thermal conducting qualities. Please make sure that you always replace this when cleaning a laptop's cooling system.

V1ctor89 thank you for replying but im not saying that it heats up now im saying that it doesnt boot at all

Is it possible that the heat ruined the motherboard and that it got fried?
