Solved! Dell laptop won’t boot OS or get into the bios

My laptop won’t boot the OS or get into the BIOS config. Not sure what it might be. I tried resetting the RAM that worked but then it turned off because I accidentally unplugged the battery cable. I know I need to change the battery, but I don’t think that’s the issue here.

Is it not powering on at all then? Or are you getting lights just nothing on the screen? What is happening, exactly.

I am not getting lights, after the bios screen loads. The OS won’t boot and the screen is black. However I noticed that if I go to the boot order and press enter on the hard drive option it boots.

Then you would be getting lights, as in lights on the front or top of the device. Not talking on the screen.

So the computer is loading, but only if you go into BIOS and select the drive? Is the drive the first thing listed in BIOS?
