Light on power button turns on for a few seconds, then battery signal light turns on for a few seconds and then both lights turn off. The blue light on the adaptor is on (when connected and not connected to the computer). I thought it was because battery was dead but it has been plugged in overnight and still not turning on. Screen stays black, no noise. Help! Thanks!!

Dead motherboard or Power board. You need to contact Dell and see if they can send someone out to fix it, or you can send it in for repairs.

Generally, if the motherboard is dead, it'll start up but you'll just hear fans run. It's more likely that the power board is fried and needs to be replaced.

Oh man, it's a brand new computer- less than a month 🙁 parts of it were refurbished - maybe that was the problem? Thanks for your help!
