Dell Speakers Humming

They always hum when powered, no matter the volume setting, no matter what I've plugged them into (even if I've plugged them into nothing, they hum - literally, it's just a constant hum, nothing makes it vary). They don't play music, obviously.

Any advice? Are they just busted? They are kind of old.

Could be the amp in the speakers or the power supply. If it has a AC wall wart you can try replacing it.
