I have a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop and I've been having difficulties with the touchpad. I updated to Windows 10 and then the touchpad had problems. It got to the point where my laptop doesnt recognize the touchpad at all. I tried to fix it, which is when i found out that Dell doesnt support Windows 10 on my model. So i downgraded to Windows 7 again, which is supported, and i'm still having problems. the Dell Touchpad application doesnt show the touchpad or pointing stick. I went into Device Manager and had to show hidden devices before the option for the touchpad showed up. I go to properties for the touchpad and it says "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)". i really would like a solution to this problem.

I tried that and when i went to reinstall it, there was an error message

Update:
This morning when i checked on it, i no longer had to show hidden devices, but now in properties it says "this device cannot start (code 10)"

Did you install all the drivers for the system including the Chipset when you re-installed Windows 7? You may need to try to reseat it, and possibly replace it.

i ran the dell system detect program and it installed 7 drivers off the website. i would think that it would've installed all the drivers i needed, especially for an important part like the touchpad
