Dell xps-13 i5 or Asus ux303ua i7

Hi please help as I need to buy a laptop for my son who is in 1st year of Network security. Which one is better? I7 is more powerful but i5 may have better battery life.

they are both dual core, the asus use 6th gen i7 vs 7th gen i5 on the dell.
What about other components? ram and hdd/sdd?
