I was trying to burn music on a cd and the software I downloaded was acting weird so I restarted my laptop. Now it says automatic repair and then diagnosing your pc. I have very important files on my laptop. Is there any way to get those files and will my laptop ever work again?

Solution
Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- While the laptop is booting up repeatedly press F8 until it loads Advanced Boot Options then select Last Known Good Configuration and press Enter. If doesn't boot up normally try Safe Mode.
- If Safe Mode will load run System Restore, restore it back to an earlier date or time before the problem even happened.
- If it doesn't boot up normally with these 2 advanced options you may need to do a complete factory reset to resolve the issue.
- To get your files backed up you can take the HDD off the laptop and use it as an external drive using an HDD enclosure.
