my dell latitude d600 external mic not work.plz give hints to solve this problem.thanks for co-operation.rafaqaqt ali

External meaning in a headset or something else plugged into the mic port on the sound card? Is it in the right port? Set as the default input device in audio control panel setup? Not muted?

D600 is probably 10 years old (I hav one at home, still working).
What OS are you trying with?
