This is old news. They are. This is not currently a mystery. The acquisition of PushLife is, in this context, completely non-news.

You will soon be able to purchase music directly from Google. The music will be found and purchased from the Android Marketplace.

First, good for Google. More competition is better, even if it expands Google even farther into everyone's life.
