That's the spirit, IMO as long as the game has a fluid gameplay and have a great background history, graphics are not that important.

IMO it was a great deal, for a notebook that price is veeery good.

Those specs would get the same price or even more expensive if they were pre-picked to a desktop PC.
It will be able to run everything nowadays with nice fps, great buy friend.

Nice bargain skills you got there,

How long you say? That deppends on the resolution, quality, etc you choose in your games.
With everything maxed out, a believe more than a year for sure, maybe 2.

Lowering down some of those( High or medium ), it'll be enough to handle 1080p for a veeery long time

Sweet I've never played higher than 1080 cause I don't see any reason too 1080p looks great. Anything higher is just eye candy I don't play games fro eye candy I play them for entertainment a good story beats the best of visuals. Personally I played world of tanks on a 965m at 120fps the 980m is stronger than my desktop lol. Can see getting max fps 120 all day long.

As to 4k at least I can edit 4k video now:) which I put up for youtube because it makes theverything eye candy people happy. But as to 17 inch I like it because more space to multitask. It was great I was looking at a damn alienware 15 with a 1060 but it had 8gb ram and no ssd. And was 1080p. For $1349 base price. ...... like no why get that when this is as powerful and has 4k.

I really doubt they would stop giving support to a GTX 980, it's one of their strongest cards, even if it's the M version.

The price you got was REALLY good, i wouldn't cancel it for nothing.

You can always change the GPU after if you feel it's lost it's charm. But keep the notebook.
