Digital TV to (yet another) Analog Receiver

I’m getting a getting a smart tv for my husband for Christmas (as a surprise) and could use some help. We have a Denon DRA-425R receiver and I ordered a Samsung MU6300. Tonight I received a digital to analog converter (DAC) made by Musou, but I don’t know if it’s the right one to use; specifically if it has enough channels or if I should order the one from Parts Express instead. The other thing I’m confused about, and this is where my limited tech knowledge completely shows, are what cable we’ll need for the DAC. Obviously we have the analog cables for between the receiver and the DAC, but what kind of cable goes on the other side between the DAC and the new tv? I really want to have everything ready on Christmas morning and there won’t be any radio shacks open then!

To use a DAC that will only accept a stereo input you would need to set the audio output type of the TV to PCM stereo.You may also have to turn on the optical output, and turn off the TV speakers. I could not find a manual online that has that information. Maybe you can call Samsung tech support.
The 5.1 DAC that parts express has will accept both 5.1 bitstream and 2.0 PCM so it works regardless.
You will need a toslink audio cable to connect the TV to the DAC.
