have 87 percent signal stregnth but both receivers only say searching for sattelite please stand by

You should contact direct TV, It could be as simple as turning power off to your receiver for a few minutes.

Yes, i just called them regarding that issue myself, found out a bird or something knocked it off its tilt just enough to make it a problem.
