Disconnecting mouse

My mouse randomly disconnects and reconnects from my laptop. It is a brand new high quality mouse, and my laptop also. It happens very little, with quite a bit of time between occurrences, but is still annoying. What is the procedure to go about diagnosing why it happens?

Well... what mouse and what laptop is it?

It could be a lot of things - unstable drivers, low batteries, bad wireless connection...

it's a Sensei Raw mouse and an Alienware M14x R2.
