While ovens may not be what I am looking for personally, I think that these smart-home style devices are the way of the future. 20-30 years from now devices will be very simple and relatively interface-less and we will have apps on our phones and computers to control them all.
Again, maybe doing this with your oven is the wrong idea, but your HVAC, water heater, dishwasher, washer/drier, home security, locks, lighting, TV/DVR, etc. This has way more potential than wearables.

nice, now i can hack your turkey, chicken, beef, pork chop, cake....

Oh nice. Now the NSA will know what's for supper!

Really, though. $12K? I'll buy it when it's $2K. I suspect these ovens might be mainstream for people under 40 by 2020.

Weekend Update - Hacker's give smart oven owners food poisoning, next target curdling your milk!
