Display won't stay on

I can get it powered up, but I only get a part of windows screen then it goes away

A few things to try;
Connect to an external monitor or TV, see if any display there
Try the screen at different angles see if any change, if so then it's likely a bad or loose cable
Try looking at display with a flashlight, if a faint image is seen, it is likely the display's power inverter (an external display should work then also)
