Solved! DISTORTED DISPLAY ON HP PAVILION LAPTOP

Hello, Before I replaced my touchpad cover on my DV5 1000nr laptop, everything was working just fine except for the left mouse button, reason for replacing cover. After putting everything back together again, my monitor is not working. Clues?

Perhaps the ribbon cable from the LCD to the motherboard has come loose? Open the laptop back up and check it. Remove and reinsert the cable to be sure.
