Got Dell PC with a Soundblaster Z card. Just running as 2.1 in my music studio. Win 11. If I stream my Amazon or others after about 30 minutes I start to get distortion. Scratchy hisssy distortion. I have to go to my settings and change it to another rate and it stops. I can immediately go back to the previous or leave and it will play for a while but then do it again. The system is only streaming audio not running any processor hungry DAW stuff, just the stream. Normally run it at 24/48k.

Updated drivers, uninstalled reinstalled to no avail.

Any ideas?

Is your motherboards's on-board audio device disabled in your BIOS?
Well it wasn't supposed to be as being a very long time user of SB cards turning it off when installing a card is second nature. Of course that was about 5 years ago and between bios updates and upgrading to Win 11 maybe it got enabled. Anyway Creative also sent me a custom driver which I also installed and then let the system stream for about two hours and came back and the distortion had not happened so one or the other fixed it (fingers crossed). Thanks for the tip!
