I am a long time iPhone user, but really like some of the new Android phones. I am thinking of making the switch, but cannot do without a feature that is similar to Apple's Airplay.

The ability to stream video from my phone to my TV is absolutely essential to me!

So, my question is... Does Android have a similar feature?

For music, I use Google Play Music, which allows me to stream music over cellular data as cache, or download and store it over Wi-Fi/data.

I also have a Chromecast, which allows me to use my phone as a control of what is streamed over Wi-Fi to my TV.

Yeah I really like the Google Play music app which I use to play a lot of my own music off of, and I think it has a better shuffle feature than iTunes does.

I just switched from an iPhone to Android (Galaxy Note 3) and have been looking for alternatives to things I miss from iOS, such as Airplay, until I discovered removed and AirFoil removed. AirFoil can play to and from any device and has many more features. These are the best apps I've found for this!!

Discussing rooted devices or rooting devices is frowned upon here. - G
