do I need the original tv remote when hooking up cable?

I can't find my TV remote control. will I I need it if i'm getting cable installed?

If you are getting a cable box you will need to select the input on the TV that it will be connected. If the TV doesn't have the controls on it to do that you will need a replacement or universal remote with the ability to change the input on your TV.
The remote for the cable box can be set to operate the power and volume functions of most TVs. The installer can do that for you.
