Dock-n-Talk cell phone docking stations can turn your wireless service
into "wired" while your cell phone is being charged - Great for TiVo
too.

The patent-pending Dock-n-Talk Cell Phone Docking Station by Phone Labs
allows you to dock your cell phone and use your normal corded or
cordless phones to make and receive cell phone calls. The docking
station effectively turns your wireless service into "wired" service
while it charges your phone. Your Dock N Talk cellular to analog phone
adapter can be used in your home, office, dorm room, weekend home,
boat, RV or any other location where cell phone service is available.

It might work for a TiVo, but there's a big gotcha. From their FAQ page:

] 20. Does Dock-N-Talk work with modems, fax machines, security
] systems, credit card readers, Tivo, Direct TV or other satellite TV
] systems?
]
] The Dock-N-Talk will work with certain devices that use DTMF to
] transmit information such as various makes of security alarm systems.
]
] Certain credit card readers, Tivo, Satellite TV systems, and modems
] will ONLY work if your cell phone supports an analog cellular service
] or communicates using DTMF (Touchtones).
]
] Digital voice networks do NOT support analog data transmissions.
] Older analog cellular service combined with an analog cellular phone
] may support the transmission of data but will only do so at VERY slow
] data speeds.
]
] Note: Data transmission is not supported by technical support and will
] not be honored as a return excuse.

So, it wouldn't work for me for my TiVos as I have a GSM cell provider.
Still, it is tempting to get one just to use regular phones throughout
my house.

Patents are not generally given when there's 'prior art'. Sorry.
