does a gtx 770m need a 240 watt adaptor?

I'm buying an Alienware 17 with a gtx 770m. It's shipping with a 180 watt adaptor. Despite this the 240 watt model is what is 'recommended' and Dell's own support pages say that anything less will give problems like low performance in games. If this is true I don't know why they're shipping with 180 watts. Should I buy the 240 watt version?

I would call Dell and ask them why they are sending a 180W adapter. Get them to fix that order quick!
