Does an iPhone track barometric pressure with the phone powered down? I know that iPhones since the 6 have a barometric pressure reader in the hardware, but does Apple make that accessible to others? And does it read and store, or worse, report out from periods where the phone is powered down?

If a phone is powered down (shut off) it has about the same data collection and reporting ability as a brick.
