Does simultaneous multi projection and VRWorks Lens Matched Shading and Single Pass Stereo rendering make all VR 2x faster?

The resolution is 2160x1200 per eye, which in total is around 3024x1680 in terms of horse power, does this new technology mean that it will only need to render 2160x1200 in total now?

I guess. Makes sense since it is effectively halving the work that the GPU would do originally
