Does this mic need a splitter to use?

These earphones have a mic built in and I was wondering if it requires a splitter to use on a pc. I was planning to plug my earphones into a blackwidow chroma which I'm getting in the mail soon but it has separate audio/mic jacks unlike my laptop which only has one together.

most likely, yes. most of the earbuds with integrated mics have a single 4pole trrs connector. all phones use this combined jack while some laptops have been doing this as well. all desktops still use seperate 3.5mm 3pole trs connectors.

short answer: you will probably need a headset adapter. in other words 3.5mm 4pole trrs female on one end which pulls mic and headphone into seperate 3.5mm 3pole trs male connectors.

the only case in which you wouldnt need an adapter for a desktop or that keyboard would be if the earbuds came with two plugs instead of one however that would be an oddity.
