I don't think it's possible to scan for channels (and much more besides) without the remote, so you'll need to get one either from the TV manufacturer or you could try one of those universal ones that you programme with a different code number for each TV manufacturer.

You can also try Google Search to find a TV remote for your specific TV model from a third-party manufacturer.
