Downgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7

After you have upgraded your Windows 7 computer to Windows 8, there might be instances when you find that new operating system incompatible with some of your installed applications. In order to make such applications work, you'll have to obtain newer,compatible versions, or downgrade your computer back to Windows 7.

Before downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7, it is important that you understand and confirm if you have sufficient rights to perform the task. You can go through the details here to get detailed information about your downgrading rights.

Note: Downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7 is nothing but erasing Windows 8 from your hard drive, and doing a clean install of Windows 7 on your computer (of course after confirming with Microsoft that you have appropriate rights to do so).

■Turn on your Windows 8 computer.
■Insert the Windows 7 Live DVD in the optical drive and go to the BIOS settings window.
■On the BIOS Setup Utility window, under the Boot tab, set your CD-ROM Drive as a first booting device.



■Press F10 and then press Enter to save the changes and reboot the computer.
■Once the operating system boots up from the Live DVD, wait till the Windows loads the files.
■From the Install Windows window, click Next.
■Click Install now from the next window.



■On the Please read the license terms window, check the I accept the license terms checkbox and click Next.



■From the Which type of installation do you want window, click the Custom (Advanced) option.



■On the Where do you want to install Windows interface, click to select the desired drive volume where you want you install Windows, and click Next.



■Once the Windows installation process begins, wait until the installation completes successfully before you restart the computer and start using Windows 7 normally.
