NFL2k was the bomb! I thought it looked much better than anything offered on the PS2. I might pick up a dream cast if I can find one here in Japan. I know a store that sells used games, maybe they a have a system around too.

[citation][nom]greliu[/nom]I do miss SEGA consoles. I know this might start something, but Sonic could kick Mario's ass anyday![/citation]

Eh, i have to disagree. But i did spend a very large portion of my childhood playing sega genesis. It was really my first very own system. My grandparents owned the Super Nintendo so that's where i played Mario. I have great memories of playing sega with my brother where i was sonic, and he was tails and he could pick me up and fly me places. At the time i thought it was awesome co-op play :)

I love the Dreamcast. Years later, games like Soul Calibur really stand the test of time, both in design and in looks. The gameplay, sound, and visuals are all stunning.

There are many theories of Sega's console demise, from hackers having found a backdoor, to the timing of the PS2's release, to Sega's relationships with developers, etc. It's irrelevant. That was about a decade ago. If Sega were to revitalize their franchises and build new relationships with developers, and maybe pocket a few developers to put some more talent in-house, they could make a run at another console. But that involves a lot of what-ifs and a lot of brilliant moves. It's something I believe Sega is capable of, but either won't do properly or won't even bother at all.

I still have one brand new in box, only taken out once to make sure that it works with CD-Rs and it does. I bought it for $49.99 + tax at a local toys r us after the price reduction. I own 3 dreamcast systems, all are working and the first one I bought was $149.99 at toys r us with sega.net $50 mail in rebate. I sent in one form and they sent me two $50 checks ($100 total) so my first one cost $149.99 plus tax minus the $100. Pretty good deals. I have every game ever released too.

Ah, I miss the Dreamcast era. I still have mine, but really I hardly have time to play PC games lately, much less hunt down hard to find DC games. I don't even remember the last time I messed with the homebrew kit.

Dreamcast, bah.......bring back the Sega Saturn or at least make a Windows compatible emulator that actually works!

The Dreamcast was ahead of it's time and it initial sold well when it came out but when the PS2 came out it was simply overwhelmed by Sony's PR machine and it was soon forgotten in the western markets.

I still own mine along with a bunch of GD-ROMs! Every once in a while I'll hook it up 2 my projector for some good Dreamcasting @ 480p through VGA box. VGA box! I remember how awesome it was the first time I played DOA and Shenmue. Ah, memories....

Saturn sucks, what game would I play on it? Dreamcast has Virtua On, I think that was one of the Saturn's flagship titles. You can get twin sticks or use saturn twin sticks, better graphics on dreamcast... only thing dreamcast lacked was nights but you can get that on Wii now. Dreamcast was a great console, but eventually PS2 caught up and surpassed it. I wish Dreamcast had a 3dfx chip in it, everyone knew at the time that PowerVR was inferior. I think sega just wanted to keep most of it Japan designed.

Virtua Tennis is a good game, they have a PC version of that too. It should still run on modern computers.

Oh yeah there's a dreamcast emulator, I forgot about. I haven't tried it yet.

Wife and I had good times with the DC before ours was stolen...

Was an increadible system in its day but the timing was bad for its release. Shame really.

There is only one true reason to have a DC. And that is to play Sega Bass Fishing Extreme with the Sega fishing rod peripheral. Along with many other consoles i own and bring along to gaming related events, it is always the Sega fishing rod peripheral that draws the crowds.

Getting 2 of them on the same system going is great fun, and was easily a decade ahead of it's time.

Love live the DC.

Are you kidding me? I sold mine on eBay for $37 + shipping and it was in mint condition. I pity the fool who would spend that much!

Gran Turismo looked so much better on DC (via Bleemcast), I spent many hours playing Samba de Amigo (now on Wii) plus don't forget MSR which became Project Gotham for XBOX.
