were do i get windows 7 drivers to make my hp 2235-us work again. i hate windows 8 and hp.thanks

Windows 7 does not support the hardware on that laptop nor does HP offer any Windows 7 drivers. What version are you trying to use, 32 or 64 bit? That's a 64bit processor so if you're trying to install a 32bit OS be aware only 4GB of RAM will be recognized and useable. It can be done though, regardless of the version you have, but it might take some work. Have you installed the Windows 7 OS already or no?

I have windows 7 64 bit installled with 8 gigs memory.

Ok, so what's working and what's not? Do you have internet access with it, are you using it for access currently or another machine? If not then the drivers for the network adapters are the first priority. Do you connect with an Ethernet cable or wifi?

i have a cable to connect and or wi fi.
i have everything working accept for the network connector and the wireless connector. I tried to install the win 8 drivers for the network adapters and was unsucessful. The sound and the video works i got the drivers from the AMD site.

Is there any chance you know or can remember which you had. And, the drivers you tried to install, were they windows native drivers or drivers from the HP website for your laptop model? yes it was atheros qualcom at58125. i tried em all from the hp site,those guys are jerks.

If none of the drivers works, we'll have to do some further investigation.

Did they work in Windows 8? If so, I'd reinstall Windows 8. It just may not be possible to make them work in Windows 7. Not all hardware is supported in all OS's. If you don't like Windows 8 because of the interface you can install Classic Shell which makes it look and act exactly like Windows 7, and it's free. It's what I've been using since Windows 8 was released and I like it much better than Windows 7. I couldn't stand the Windows 8 Metro interface and not having a regular desktop either. So if the wireless and LAN worked with the windows 8 setup that might be what you have to do.

this is what i did to fix the driver problem with my 2235-us hp laptop. after fighting windows 7 downgrade i decided to reinstall windows 8 and it solved the driver problem it installed flawlessly. i then put the laptop up for sale on craigs list and will never support hp or the lame company again.(i have been buying for 25 years from hp and refuse to be stuck in the rut because they dont want to support windows 7. i bought a laptop that only works with windows 8 from hp and windows 8 is crap. i will never use windows 8 it sucks and thats that!

Well, I ain't gonna argue with bobbiesue, nosir. That's definitely your right to do what you want and glad it worked out, sorta. Just keep in mind though, before you buy another rig, almost every manufacturer out there has stopped supporting Windows 7 on new devices because Windows 8 was released exactly two years ago and the early release candidate of Windows 9 is supposedly just a couple of months away.

That means windows 9 is likely to be released sometime in the middle of next year give or take a few months. There probably aren't any manufacturers left that are currently selling new product that supports windows 7. You may want to buy something new, but a little older if you know what I mean, so that it has windows 7 support or at least make sure there are win7 drivers available for whatever model you buy, before you buy it, just to be safe.
