For reasons beyond my control, my Vaio crashed to the ground from its desk (about 3 foot drop). From what it seems so far, the only damage was done to the screen (can only see right side). The machine powers up and I'm able to open programs (the ones I can see), and was able to save the project I was working on during the accident (on Ableton Live).
My priority right now is to back up all data in case there is hard drive damage. What would be the smartest route to take from here? I dont have a lot of tech experience, so bear with me... Should I remove the hard drive and put it in an external case, and back up the data using another computer? And if I was to do this, how would I open the operating system on the external drive?
Please let me know of any other options, if there are any. All help appreciated!
