very good to hear, I can't wait to get my hands on a cheap OLED monitor. Wonder when they will be coming out ^^

"last fifteen years if left on for eight hours a day" That sound promising but have they fix the problem with the blue that burning out too quickly yet? If they do then I want one.

First i was thinking about the paint company and they doing something like painting a pic on a wall and calling it OLED, god i feel dumb.... Time for more coffee.

**Chuckle**

Even though they can mass produce these quickly now, don't think the prices will drop instantly. They'll be gouging us for as much money as they can while dropping prices slowly like always.

[citation][nom]razorblaze42[/nom]So 5 years at 24 hours a day. Disappointing[/citation]

I'm perfectly happy with a display rated for 40,000+ hours. I certainly would not classify that as "disappointing."

Who in gods name leaves their tv on for 5 years straight 24 hours a day?

[citation][nom]razorblaze42[/nom]So 5 years at 24 hours a day. Disappointing[/citation]You just gave me horrible flashbacks from living with roommates who NEVER turned the f&*&*ng TV OFF. Why does it need to be on 24 hours a day!!?? JUST WHY!?

Any office in the news business, for one.

Which can probably afford to replace the display every 5 years....

For the average homeowner, 8 hours a day is probably a good guess if you have kids, with no kids it's probably lower.

I was thinking the same! LOL

For a product like this, I'm not sure 5 years isn't just fine -- remember, in 2005 a 42" plasma display about $2 grand.

DuPont also makes paint. They are a huge chemical company, so, it is the same company.

I used to know someone that had to leave the tv on when they went to sleep. Wonder if it is still true.
