dv 6500 upgrade to ssd and win7

I have dv6500 PN:GS797UA#ABA
would like to upgrade to sata6 ssd from serial ata 600
and change o/s to win 7 64 bit
will it work

Yes, remember to change SATA mode to AHCI in bios / uefi. (XP does not support AHCI native, so you need drivers from a disk, but Vista and up do)
