Echo on new computer

Recently I built a new computer. I tried to use headphones with it (2 different pairs that work fine on my phone and other computers), and, although they work, there is a long series of echos without fail no matter what I'm listening to. It can be a youtube video or playing league of legends. I tried both the audio ports on the front of the case and the ones directly on my motherboard. Both had the echo. I am positive that there is an echo, because even after I've paused the video or muted the music it still goes on for about a second. Thank you for any help that you can give me, and if you need any more information than just let me know.

what is the make & model# of the motherboard? are you using the latest sound drivers?

I fixed it myself. Turns out in the Asus sound settings thing I had the environment set to sewers.
