I've been using this a good while. Its very handy when traveling. Airports seem to be a big target for wifi packet sniffing.

Keep in mind that most "secure" logins on sites are only secure for the handshake, firesheep is able to sniff your session out afterwards.

Definitely support the EFF.

This is a constant battle. the use of proxies, spoofed IPs, infected computers, constantly evolving evasion of spam detection.. its not easy to ban or block them all. Just imagine the hell of trying to run an email server these days. The spam you see is not nearly a 10th of what tries to come in.

The real solutions come with migrating to Ipv6 and DNSSEC, it stops a good portion of these.

The sites they are pushing are the common factor.

I have installed this and hmmm... NoScript already has such feature but it requires list of sites to enforce https.

What this addon (HTTPS Everywhere) does is that it just has a large list of sites where to enforce the https. It does *not* enforce it *everywhere*, just on known list of sites (see addon's options).

On a second thought it does encrypt underlying services such as GoogleServices, Google search etc. I highly recommend to try this addon.

I've been using this plug in for 9 mo. or more. I've never had a plugin or performance problem. The only annoyance is that there are a very few Facebook apps that cannot run via https and you must turn it off. Given the issues, I don't know why Facebook has not required 100% https compliance (except that they really don't care about privacy (duh!) as long as they are getting the ad revenue).
