Hi guys,
so I've been using a lenovo y410p for m y mobile gaming platform for awhile now. Now that I'm staying in a dorm, I want to use it as a powerful desktop replacement. The only things that needs to be upgrade are the hdd and the gpu. I'm going to install a caddy for an ssd upgrade, my only concern now being if the the laptop can support a egpu using perhaps this;

I understand that I'll have to use the wireless adapter pci slot but I'm planning to use ethernet mainly, and if need a wireless usb adapter. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated

So you'll be taking the wireless adapter's mPCI-e port?
If so I recommend Driver booster 3 to detect the GPU and install the driver.
But I am inexperienced with mPCI-e eGPU's soo...

As long as the mini PCI-e connector can fit into the mini PCI-e bay then you should be able to connect a desktop GPU to the device. I have read a couple of comments where people could not use that external PCI-e slot because the mini PCI-e connector was slightly too big to fit into the laptop's mini-PCI-e bay.

Just so that you are aware, you need a power supply and monitor for the setup.
