Engaged tone in my mobile

I am now having samsung galaxy mobile which was previously used by my friend. now i am unable to call his number from my mobile. every time i try i am getting engaged tone from my moblie. how to solve this?

Can you call other numbers? Can other numbers call him? This sounds like you need to contact your service provider and ask them.
