Hello,
what is a i/0 device error on new gateway laptop, i dropped it but it dont look like anything wrong with it tho

How far along into the boot up process with the laptop go?

Turn on the power and keep tapping on the F8 key till you see the Advanced Boot Menu.
Do you have an option for 'Last Known Good Configuration'? And can you start using that?

Also try 'Safe Mode' on that same menu.

If none of that work - turn on your power and keep tapping on the F2 key. Do you get the BIOS options there?

it goes all the way to 99 percent, so i brought the gateway recovery disk and that when the error code started to show ,the most that went was 3 %.
