Esi Juli bad noises through s/pdif

Hello.
I got an Esi Juli (pci add on sound card) connected to a receiver through optical cable.
Recently I got harsh sound, really bad noise on the right speaker, sometime its OK, and then
out of the blue its starting, for minutes or hours.
my reciever goes to protected mode ones in a while too (automatic mute).
I changed my cable to a new one and it didn't solve the problem.

Any help?

Is the Juli@ your only digital source? The problem could be in the receiver. If you can connect a DVD or Bluray with the same cable it would help. Since the receiver is going into protection there could also be a problem with the right speaker or the wire connecting it. Make sure that the wire is not close or touching at the ends.
